Multi-Sensory Experience Project, John Lewis Horsham

Client: Conamar
Location: Horsham
Value: £460,000
Programme: 10 Weeks

We have had the pleasure of handing over a fantastic project at the John Lewis branch in Horsham. The project is a new concept for the Partnership, bringing an exciting multi-sensory experience to customers with fragrance, colours and sounds to specific areas to enrich customer mood and experience. The store which is co-located with a Waitrose shop, has been converted from a John Lewis at home store to a store that now houses home design, fashion, beauty and personal styling. This mechanical and electrical project involved a relocation of all the departments within the store. The TV and audio department was moved from ground floor to first floor – additional air conditioning units were required on the first floor to accommodate the changes. The lighting department was also changed within the 1st floor of the store, again requiring additional air conditioning alterations to allow this.

A new customer collection point was constructed within an existing stock room with new entrance to the existing foyer.

A new children’s area was also created which includes a wonder trail concept with an interactive treasure hunt and activity table. This was the first store within the John Lewis Partnership to have this concept installed.

We are really pleased with the end product we have successfully delivered for the John Lewis Partnership.
