This week and last week, we have had the pleasure of having Louie in our head office in Burscough doing a work experience placement.
The placement is allowing Louie an introduction to what a career in the Electrical and Mechanical sector looks like by gaining hands-on experience of working life in a real-world setting.
During his time here Louie has been trained on 5 Health & Safety courses which include – Asbestos Awareness, Ladder Safety, Driver Awareness, Fire Safety and Manual Handling. Louie has also assisted our Estimating team in carrying out take offs from drawings then logging the results on excel. We have also demonstrated to him how our Design and CAD department utilises 2D and 3D programmes. Additionally Louie has been shadowing colleagues from different departments to gain insights into different roles within the business.
Whether he decides to start an apprenticeship or go to university in the future, the work experience Louie will have gained during his two week placement with us will hopefully work as a great early insight into a potential career choice for him.
As a company we pride ourselves in our ethos to give back to our local community and this work experience placement is just one of the many ways we support that. To have more of an insight into other ways in which we support our local community, please view the In The Community page on our website.
